経済産業省と大手コンビニ3社は物流の効率化を進めるため、都内で共同配送の実験を行うと発表しました。　
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and three major convenience stores have announced that they will conduct a joint delivery test in Tokyo to improve the efficiency of logistics.
実験にはセブン－イレブン、ファミリーマート、ローソンの3社が参加します。
Seven-Eleven, FamilyMart and Lawson will participate in the trial.
有明やお台場など湾岸エリアに近接した40の店舗に対し、同じトラックを使って飲料や菓子を配送します。
By using the same truck, drinks and candies will be delivered to 40 stores near coastal areas such as Ariake and Odaiba.
運転手の不足が課題となるなか、共同配送によってトラックの積載率の向上や台数の削減などに効果があるか検証するとしています。
While the driver shortage problem is ongoing, they will test to verify whether joint transport will improve payload capacity and reduce the number of vehicles.
また、過疎地での実用化についても検討します。
In addition, they will also consider application in depopulated areas.
共同配送の実験は来月1日から1週間かけて行われます。
The joint delivery test will be carried out within 1 week from the 1st next month.
