両陛下は5日、熱海市の土石流災害などに際し、侍従長を通じて静岡県の川勝知事にお気持ちを伝えられました。　
On the 5th, the Emperor expressed sympathy to Governor Kawakatsu of Shizuoka prefecture through the Chamberlain of Japan, when the site of the landslide disaster in Atami city.
お二人は今回の大雨による災害の発生で犠牲者が生じ、多くの人々の安否が不明となっていることに深く心を痛められているということです。　
They were deeply saddened by the disaster caused by this heavy rain, it caused casualties and the safety of many people were not known.
また、犠牲者を悼み、被災者にお見舞いの気持ちを示されています。
