飛行中の操縦室内で非番のパイロットが突然、エンジンを止めようとしましたが操縦中の機長らが阻止、旅客機が緊急着陸するトラブルがありました。　
A pilot on duty suddenly tried to turn off the engine in the cockpit while flying but was stopped by the captain and other pilots, and the plane had to make an emergency landing.
CNNなどによりますと、22日夜、アメリカ・ワシントン州からカリフォルニア州に向かっていたホライゾン航空の旅客機で事件が起きました。　
According to CNN and other sources, the incident occurred on the night of the 22nd on a Horizon Airlines passenger plane traveling from Washington state to California.
操縦室内の補助席に座っていた非番のパイロット、ジョセフ・エマーソン容疑者が突然、エンジンの消火装置を作動させ、エンジンを停止させようとしたということです。　
The off-duty pilot, Joseph Emerson, who was sitting in the booster seat in the cockpit, suddenly activated the engine's fire suppression system and attempted to stop the engine.
操縦していた機長と副操縦士が異変に気づき、阻止しました。　
The captain and co-pilot flying the plane noticed something unusual and stopped it.
機長らは地上の管制塔に対し、「エンジンを止めようとした男をコックピットから追い出した。警察を呼んでくれ」と要請しオレゴン州ポートランドに緊急着陸しました。
The captain made an emergency landing in Portland, Oregon and told the ground control tower, "We have ejected the man from the cockpit who was trying to stop the engine. Please call the police."
容疑者は殺人未遂などの疑いで拘束されました。　
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
機長やパイロット、乗客にけがはありませんでした。　
The captain, pilot and passengers were all uninjured.
犯行の動機は分かっていません。
The motive for the crime is still unknown.
