アメリカ軍はICBM＝大陸間弾道ミサイル「ミニットマン3」の発射実験を行ったと発表しました。　
The US military announced that it had conducted a test launch of an ICBM = intercontinental ballistic missile "Minuteman 3".
「ミニットマン3」は核弾頭の搭載が可能なICBMで、アメリカの核戦力の中核をなす兵器です。　
"Minuteman 3" is an ICBM that can be equipped with a nuclear warhead, and is the core weapon of the US nuclear force.
発射実験は16日午前にカリフォルニア州のバンデンバーグ基地から行われ、およそ6800キロを飛行し、弾頭はマーシャル諸島に落下したということです。　
The test launch was conducted from the Vandenberg base in California on the morning of the 16th, flew about 6,800 km, the warhead fell on the Marshall Islands.
今回の発射実験はペロシ下院議長の台湾訪問を受けて、中国が大規模な軍事演習に踏み切るなか、緊張のエスカレートを避けるため、延期していたとみられます。　
The test launch is said to have been postponed to avoid escalation as China embarked on large-scale military exercises following a visit to Taiwan by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
アメリカ軍は「21世紀型の脅威を抑止し、同盟国を安心させるために行われた定期的な実験であり、現在の世界情勢に起因するものではない」としています。
"This is a routine test conducted to deter 21st-century threats and reassure allies, not the current world situation," the US military said.
