Osaka Osaka Hospital Byouin uses AI to help remove wisdom teeth without having to clean them
Osaka University Osaka University School of Dentistry Shigakubu Hospital began using artificial intelligence (AI) in January of this year to investigate the difficulty of removing wisdom teeth.
This AI system, Sistem, is being used together with a nearby dentist named Ishasan.
A lot of X-rays and CT images made the elephant look like an AI and it learned so much that it was able to predict where the wisdom tooth was and where the nerve was located just by looking at the ordinary X-rays.
After the patient gives consent, the dentist uploads the photo to a special app, and the AI will give the results in about 30 seconds.
There are three types of results: ``nearness and nearness'', ``farthness and distance'', and ``difficult to understand''.
By using this result, you can know in advance what kind of problems will occur when a tooth is extracted.
It will also be easier to decide whether or not to refer your child to a specialist teacher.
Also, since October last year, this hospital has started an online reservation system that can be used by other dentists.
Currently, 220 hospitals in seven cities in Osaka are using this system.
