Potato digger Togoro and money talk
In Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, there is a story about a man with no money called Togoro Imo-dori.
Togoro lived in the mountains digging potatoes and turning them into alcohol.
One day, a woman named Okoto came to marry me from a place called Yamato.
Okoto lived on the potatoes that Togoro dug, but life was difficult.
Okoto gave Togoro the small coin he had brought with him when he came to marry his wife, and said, ``Buy rice and other things you need.''
However, Togoro gave the small coin to a villager and received a small amount of alcohol.
Togoro didn't know anything about money.
Okoto said to Togoro, ``Please take me to the place where I always dig potatoes.''
And when we dug there, we found a lot of gold.
They both became rich.
Even though Togoro became rich, he still went into the mountains and dug potatoes.
The story is that the name Kanazawa was created from the gold that Fujigoro dug.
